Process
I will be your guide through each step of the writing process. When we work together, you will get the support you need to finally take your story from idea to book.
1. Discovery Calls
After making contact, we’ll set up a brief phone or Zoom call to discuss your project and see if it’s a good fit. If we agree to move forward, we’ll set up two more calls to gather some basic information about the planned book.
2. Contract
Once we’ve agreed on the scope of the project, we’ll sign a contract outlining deliverables and timeline.
3. Rough Outline
Using notes from our discovery calls, I’ll pull together a rough outline of the book we plan to write, detailing the topics we need to cover and the order in which they’ll appear.
4. Interviews
With the rough outline approved, we’ll schedule a series of weekly calls to gather more detailed information about each part of your story. I’ll transcribe these conversations and use them to start writing your book.
5. Drafts
With your story outlined and the details filled in, all that remains is the writing! Using our interview transcripts as inspiration, I’ll produce a series of manuscript drafts for you to review over several rounds of revision. Together, we’ll refine the manuscript until it fully captures your story.
6. Final Manuscript
Once you approve your manuscript, you’re ready to take the next step in your publishing journey, whether that’s self-publishing, working with a hybrid publisher, or pursuing a traditional publishing contract.
